Reference Range
For assessment of risk for cardiovascular disease in adults, the CDC and AHA recommend the following guidelines based on average of two test results, two weeks apart in metabolically stable patients:
Cardio Vascular Disease Risk HSCRP mg/L
Low................................................<1.0
Average............................................1.0 - 3.0
High.......................................... > 3.0 - 10.0
Indeterminate......................................... > 10.0
If HSCRP level is > 10 mg/ L, patient should be evaluated for possible sources of infection or inflammation. Repeat HSCRP may also be appropriate.
CRP is a wide range CRP method.
Inflammation reference range: 0.0-7.4 mg/L
