Methods
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) processing of urine specimens for UroVysion testing. Specific probes include chromosome centromeres 3, 7, 17, and p16 locus specific probe for 9p21 are analyzed.
Clinical Utilities
Detection of aneuploidy of chromosomes 3,7, and 17, and loss of 9p21 locus in person with hematuria suspected of having bladder
cancer, to aid in initial diagnosis of bladder cancer, and subsequent monitoring of tumor recurrence in patients previously diagnosed with bladder cancer.
